Life through Digital Play

So now i’m linking stuff!

Ok then… same day, new task!

I need to experiment more…

Have a look at this and tell me what you make of our superhero on myspace. This was one of our team tasks on the course module Research in Media Culture and Education. If you have a myspace page be one of our new friends…they’re a bit thin on the ground at the moment.

I’m not so much in to Super Heroes, having said that I found this site quite interesting!!

It made me think, what happens behind closed doors, in the superheroes mundane everyday life? do they have children and if so do these childen learn and appropriate their super-parents behaviour, are they interpellated into a discourse of superheroe-ness?

I GUESS SO!!

This post attempts to match the pace of your exciting stream-of-conscious blogging.

I love that Superjem comic thinger- who ever came up with it? I think super heroes are pretty neat and sort of fancy being one myself. The video won’t load because of my dorm’s slow network (also couldn’t hear the sound of that alarm noise you put up) but I’m sure it’s interesting as well. And that site you posted is neat and I’m going to have a look.

SPOILER WARNING (DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU ALREADY KNOW/WANT TO FIND OUT ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS IN SUPERMAN RETURNS:

I was so excited when we find out that Superman has a baby who inherits his powers. If you’ve ever wanted to see a little kid throw a piano at someone attacking his mum, I really think you’ll like this movie. Also, I watched it on an airplane and one of the opening scenes shows an airplane crashing. Thank goodness Superman was there to save them! Freaked me out, though.

If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?

Your blog makes me laugh, Michelle. Well done!

    I would be…

    invisible!
For sure. That way I could sneak all over the place…hop on airplanes without anyone seeing me and travel the world (for all those that would choose the ability to fly). It would be an ideal trait for fighting baddies, I think, and isn’t that what being a superhero is all about? I could find out evil conspiracies.

Being a super genius would be great, too, I like your thinking, but sometimes I am quite sure there are plenty of things I don’t want to know. Ignorance is bliss! Life is a cartoon! I’m going to go watch the Incredibles, I think. See you soon!

Also, I had a really fun idea for DVP2 if you’re interested in working with puppets.
