According to The LondonPaper, research conducted in California has revealed that SNS’s are creating a social divide. Myspace, Bebo, Facebook and Linkedin are each stated as being frequently used by particular social groups.

I read about this as well. As someone who has both myspace (myspace.com/growlersworld) and facebook my take on it is this.
Having had myspace for a while, I prefer facebook for the basic ease of use and the private nature of it. As a social networking platform i find it more intimate and that suits me just fine.
